Give Our Readers An Overview of the Golf Course/Property Colbert Hills was designed by Jeff Brauer and PGA & Champions Tour winner Jim Colbert. Opened in 2000, Colbert Hills is built within the beautiful Flint Hills of Kansas. The course is set up in a Links Style with an elevated tee shot on almost every hole. The golf course has zoysia grass fairways and bent grass greens. The golf course has generous landing areas and five sets of tees to allow golfers of all abilities a chance to score. This course is like non other and you will use all the clubs in the bag when you come and see us. Colbert Hills also has a 9 hole Par 3 course that is a great place to play a mad nine. Practice facilities include grass range tees, putting green, and short game area. Lessons are available by appointment. Colbert Hills has a full service pro shop inside a 10,000 square foot clubhouse that has a restaurant named Colbert's after our designer and K-State alum. What Tips or Local Knowledge Would You Provide To Help Them Score Better At Your Course? To enjoy your round make sure and tee off from the correct tees. If you play to far back it won't be as much fun as it can be. Other than that the golf course is right in front of you with GPS on every cart to help you find yardages.
Recent Awards or What You Are Most Proud About The Course? Colbert Hills has been ranked the Top Courses You Can Play and Best Campus Courses by Golf Week, also have been ranked the #1 Daily Fee in Kansas by Golf Digest.
What Is The Signature, Most Talked About, or Most Photographed Hole? Some of the things to keep an eye out for while here are the famous purple cat paw bunker boasting the home of the Kansas State Men & Women's golf team's; along with going to the top of #7 a 600 yard par 5 with a view that will blow you away.
What Is Your Favorite Hole? Any Tips to Play It? My favorite hole is #13. A short par 4 that gives you a chance to drive the green with a south wind. The hole has a double fairway with the bail out on the left, the fairway going into the green is surrounded by bunkers that can leave you wondering WHY did I attempt to drive this green. A beautiful hole from the tee.
Must Have Dish or Drink after the round at the 19th Hole? Must have a Smoked Pork Chop along with a tall beer after your round. If that is a bit much, I would recommend the wings.
Who Holds Course Record and What Was Their Score? Course record is held by PGA Tour Professional Robert Streb (K-State Golf Team Alum) at 64. A masterful round from 7,525 yards.
